Washington Diminished Value Appraisals That Get Results

Was your car in an accident—even one that wasn’t your fault? If it’s been repaired but has lost market value, you may be owed a diminished value settlement. Insurance companies don’t always tell you this, but you have the right to recover the loss in value with a proper appraisal.

We help drivers across the United States secure fair compensation for the value their vehicle has lost after a collision. Whether your car is a daily driver, a leased vehicle, or a high-value model, we make sure you’re not leaving money on the table.

What Is Diminished Value?

Diminished value is the difference between your car’s market value before the accident and after it has been repaired. Even with high-quality repairs, the resale value of your vehicle typically drops—and insurers know this.
In Oregon, you’re allowed to file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance to recover that loss.

How Our Appraisal Process Works

Our streamlined process makes it easy to get the appraisal you need—quickly and confidently. From free assessment to final report, we guide you every step of the way.

01

Free Claim Review

Request a Free Claim Review and I will assess the insurance company’s valuation. I will let you know if the offer is fair or if your vehicle is likely being undervalued. Most reviews are completed within a few hours.

02

Invoke the Appraisal Clause

If the insurer’s valuation seems too low, I may recommend moving forward with the appraisal clause in your policy. If you decide to proceed, I will provide a formal Letter of Representation along with simple, clear steps to follow next.

03

Full Appraisal and Representation

Once the appraisal clause is activated, I take over the entire process. I prepare a full USPAP compliant report, communicate with the insurer’s appraiser, negotiate for a fair value, coordinate the umpire process if required, and keep you updated. My goal is to secure the strongest possible settlement for you.

04

Pricing

The fee is a flat 550 dollars. This includes the complete USPAP appraisal, full representation and negotiation, all communication with the insurer’s appraiser, and any required umpire coordination. There are no percentage fees, no extra charges, and no surprises.

05

No Risk Guarantee

If your settlement does not increase by at least one thousand dollars, I will refund the full 550 dollars. You face no financial risk when working with Total Loss NW.

06

Timeline

Most cases are finished within one to three weeks. Once both appraisers connect, the process usually moves quickly, and an umpire is rarely needed.

Meet Your Appraiser

Total Loss Northwest was founded by Nico Nix, an independent auto appraiser with deep roots in the Northwest car community and a lifelong passion for vehicles.

Nico grew up surrounded by the appraisal business—his father owns Leverage Auto Appraisals in Oregon, and his brother runs Diminished Value of Oregon. For the Nix family, helping drivers fight for fair value isn’t just a business—it’s a family tradition.

From weekends spent in the garage to classic car shows and local meetups, Nico’s journey has always revolved around cars. Today, he brings that same enthusiasm and deep industry knowledge to every diminished value and total loss appraisal he delivers.

When you work with Nico, you’re not getting a generic report—you’re getting insight from someone who lives and breathes cars, and who fights to make sure your vehicle’s true worth is recognized.
